Little things mean a lot
And I thank-you so much.
Your Birthday remembrance
Was just the right touch!
To Mark for the Ride
And Mary Jo at my side
With the red sweater so bright,
God said "Let there be light!"
To Peggy with the socks
And the moose, homs all aglow:
I said to myself-
Is there a coded message here,
What do they know?
My imagination ran away with me,
As they started to sing.
So I convinced myself
That nobody means anything!
For it's true that I'm an elderly,
Probably the oldest in the lot.
I can't believe it myself,
The chronological years
Momentarily I forgot!
The Birthday - Cake and the
Candles galore
Really and truly
Evened up the score.
I was pleased that Jacob was there;
(I think I caught him
Saying a prayer!)
And to Rita for the kindness
She has showed; the stereo -
CD player - radio
In its box glowed.
I wanted to cry, it seemed
Such a beautiful time;
From Brunch to Dessert,
Another birthday was mine!!
But I must say that
As I come to the end of the line:
Thanks for the memory
And all the company
Was Divine!
Love,
Nancy Claire Simon
