My name is Natalie Thomas. I was born and raised in New Jersey. At the age of 17, I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. I started painting in eight grade with the encouragement of my art teacher. After a hiatus from painting I began to paint again at age 23. Two years ago I started taking art classes. My counselor at CSP during this time introduced me to Narsad Artworks, a museum in California that publishes artwork of people that have schizophrenia and depression. I have been with CSP the past four years and have been motivated and encouraged by the Supportive Services Team Staff to improve the quality of my life by continuing to paint and improve techniques of paintings which has helped me immensely. Recently I began to sell my paintings to residents and staff of CSP and the local YMCA and gas stations. My ultimate goal is to have my own gallery to display and sell my paintings and make a living by continuing to paint. I really feel inspired and accomplished by doing my artwork, which has helped me feel more positive with my life. I just want to say, thank you very much to all the staff at CSP. I truly love all of you guys for helping me so much in my life. Everyone is doing a great job!
Love
