Dennis Gil de Rubio has something to celebrate. Dennis, a Freehold resident and participant in the CSPNJ Consumer Savings Club (CSC), recently bought a new Dell laptop computer after successfully completing the savings program. He joined the CSC in May 2002.
“I hope his participation in the club and the successful outcome will motivate Dennis to continue to save money on an independent basis,” said Zoraida Reyes, CEC Financial Services Coordinator. “This kind of achievement can really enrich his life.” While Dennis, who is currently attending school, will be able to use his new laptop to assist him in his studies, Zoraida added. The CSC is a one-year matched savings program designed to help CSPNJ residents save for and acquire a productive asset, such as a computer, car, furniture, or clothing. Participants make regular contributions to a special savings account; these contributions are matched on a one-to-one basis up to $1,200. Club members must contribute a minimum of ten dollars each month or a maximum of $100 to obtain the matching funds. At the moment, there are no openings in the CSC program, but interested residents may add their names to a waiting list,” Zoraida said. “This program is a great service and we urge residents to join.” Interested residents may call Zoraida at 732-780-1175 for information on the CSC.
